AL-KO

The AL-KO company was formed in 1923 by a 23 year old locksmith, Alois Kober (hence the name AL-KO) in Grosskoetz, Germany. By 1947 his three sons, Herbert, Kurt and Willy had started their apprenticeships as locksmith and mechanic and the business gradually evolved into producing hand-brake levers for agricultural trailers in the early 50’s.

By the mid 1960’s the first lawnmower had been produced, followed by many more engineering products. The company continued to grow and set up subsidiary companies in England, France, Switzerland and Italy.

In 1981 came the first ride-on lawnmower, followed in 1983 by the first garden shredder. In 1995 AL-KO took over the Ginge A/S company and the founder died in 1997.

Since the turn of the century AL-KO has continued its expansion and now manufactures and distributes its lawnmowers, garden shredders, cultivators and other garden machinery throughout the world yet is still controlled by the Kober family.

Lawn Mowers

AL-KO supplies electric and petrol lawn mowers for every garden size. Each product of the comprehensive AL-KO range enables you quickly to carry out the often tiresome task of lawn mowing with a minimum of time and effort - leaving more time for leisure activities.

Ride-on mowers
With the AL-KO "Ride-On" lawn mowing becomes a pleasure. And what is even more, the Ride-On is available at a price for which you otherwise can often only buy a wheel-driven lawnmower which you have to walk behind.

Aerators
In addition to being mowed, every lawn should also be aerated regularly. With AL-KO aerators this can be done safely, thoroughly and quickly. Your grass can breathe again and develop its full splendour. The special blades of petrol and electric AL-KO aerators permanently remove the tangled layer of moss from your lawn - nutrients, air and water thus can again reach the roots of the grass unhindered.

Powered cultivators
AL-KO provides ideal products for biological soil working. Deep digging in the garden is a thing of the past. AL-KO petrol cultivators loosen the soil and eliminate weed - ideal prerequisites to allow all plants to flourish. And what is even more, petrol cultivators are also perfectly suitable to work in manure, peat or shreddings.

Shredders
Shredding turns gardening waste into ideal garden fertilisers. With their new cutting and crushing system including a counter-roller, AL-KO shredders ensure high material throughput and operate under extremely low noise levels. AL-KO Silent Power 5000 even accommodates thicker branches up to a diameter of 45 mm.

Blower/Vac
With AL-KO blower/vacs, lawns, yards, or drives can be quickly, effortlessly and completely cleared of leaves - whether they are small or large in area. This range offer machines that are able to vacuum, shred and blow leaves.
