Lawn Mower Brands

Atco Lawnmowers-Atco offer two types of Lawnmower the traditional Cylinder Lawnmower and the Rotary Lawnmower. The cylinder lawnmower is used for those lawns where a closer cut is required as well as those classic light and dark stripes, created by the rear roller laying the grass in one direction and then the opposite direction on the way back. The rear roller rotary lawnmowers include the Atco Admiral range -a 16" lawnmower available in Push, Autodrive, and Electric (key) start. The Atco Viscount range is a 19" model and is more suitable for areas up to two tennis courts, these models are available in Autodrive and Electric(key) start. Both the Atco Admiral and Atco Viscount lawnmowers come with a lightweight ABS deck The same principal applies with the Roller Rotary Lawnmowers as with the Cylinder Lawnmowers where the rear roller creates those classic light and dark stripes.

AL-KO Lawnmowers- AL-KO lawnmowers are built in Germany to a very high specification and are available in Petrol and Electric, The Petrol Lawnmowers are available as a rear roller machine or a four wheeled machine, whereas the Electric Lawnmowers are only offered with four wheels. For meadows and orchards AL-KO offer a specialist scythe mower which has hardened ESM blades. AL-KO also offer garden rollers, scarifiers, rotovators, shredders, garden tractors, and blowers all available to buy on our website.

Flymo Lawnmowers- Flymo have led the field with their Petrol hover mowers for many years and offer the most comprehensive range of hover mowers.

Hayter Lawnmowers- Hayter have been maufacturing quality lawnmowers at their Bishops Stortford factory for over fifty years and have led the market particularly with the Harrier range of roller rotary lawnmowers, With some unique design features it is possible to achieve quite a fine cut whist still keping those classic light and dark stripes. Hayter also produce a range of four wheeled lawnmowers with both steel and aluminium decks. A particularly beneficial feature with most Hayter Lawnmowers is their friction disc system that protects the crankshaft against damage should you strike a solid immovable object.

Honda Lawnmowers- Honda are, as you would expect, manufacturers of premium quality lawnmowers all powered by their own very reliable Honda engines; although generally more expensive than their competitors, buying a Honda will be a good long term investment. Honda offer Lawnmowers with both rear roller and four wheels as well as push and self propelled. A choice on some models is the hydrostatic drive (infinitely variable). Another feature pioneered by Honda is the roto-stop system which allows you to stop the blade rotating whilst still allowing drive to the rear roller - a particular benefit when emptying the grassbag or transferring from one lawn to another.

Another introduction from Honda includes the Izy range of four wheeled rotary Lawnmowers - these are high quality steel deck machines offering very good value for money.

John Deere Lawnmowers- John Deere are probably one of the most innovative manufacturers in the world and have, over the last few years introduced a comprehensive range of very high quality four wheeled rotary lawnmowers ranging from 43cm width of cut up to 52cm powered by both petrol engines and electric motors their is even a battery powered Lawnmower. They offer both alumimium and steel decks as well as the blade brake clutch option (similar in operation to the Honda roto stop featured above) Another area in which John Deere are strong, is their mulching lawnmowers which offer outstanding performance for those gardeners who wish to put the benefits of the finely chopped grass back into the soil releasing valuable nutrients to help promote healthy growth.

Mountfield Lawnmowers - Probably the best known brand of lawnmower in the UK, Mountfield offer a wide range of lawnmowers, from 16 to 21in. Their steel deck rotary mowers are very popular for the medium sized garden. For those with larger areas of lawn, you can choose from the aluminium deck 4-wheeled M series or, for that classic striped effect there is a range of rear roller rotary mowers, some with variable drive.

Mowerland Lawnmowers - This range of mowers from Mowerland are aimed particularly at the budget end of the market, although offering very good value for money. the cutting widths range from 16in to 21in and, at the moment, are only available with four wheels

Toro Lawnmowers - Toro are a leading American manufacturer of lawn and garden equipment - they are particularly well-known in the golfing world for their very high quality equipment. They also produce a range of consumer products, most notably their recycler range. If you are looking for a lawnmower with the option to recycle the clippings and put the nutrients back into the soil, then Toro offer probably the best range on the market. Coupled with the fact that you can also use the same machine to collect or side discharge when the grass is too long to recycle. Their unique Automatic Drive System automatically adjusts the speed to your walking pace. These lawnmowers are available in a range of cutting widths from 16in to 21in and in both electric and petrol versions.
