MO Bacter Organic Lawn Fertiliser

MO Bacter is an organic fertiliser which feeds the lawn, destroys the moss and leaves no black debris. Does it sound too good to be true?

But MO Bacter (new to the UK) does all three - and the bacteria digests the dead moss, removing the need for raking.

This unique product, from Viano of Belgium, is an award-winning slow-release granular fertiliser which eradicates moss by secondary action, feeds grass and improves the soil.

Moss dies from an excess of potassium but leaves no black debris. The dead moss is then digested by the bacteria in MO Bacter (npk: 5-5-20). MO Bacter becomes active when the soil temperature reaches 10°C.

For best results, apply MO Bacter in March, April and May (or early autumn). It is supplied in 20 kilo bags.

One kilogram treats up to 10 square metres, so a bag will be enough to treat up to 200 square metres.

In trials two inches of moss was virtually eliminated in six months, with no need for scarifying to remove debris. And stonework was completely unmarked. This product will revolutionise the way moss is treated on grass near stonework.

A leading professional lawn specialist said he had tested MO Bacter and found it to be "very effective and very efficient."

In January MO Bacter won the Turf Professional Best New Product of the Year at the BTME show in Harrogate.

MO Bacter is unique as a moss eradicator because moss does not go black but is digested by the bacteria. Lawns are left free of debris and there is no need to scarify. Grassed areas will be fed evenly over a three-month period.

Recovery Organic Fertiliser

Following on from the success of the MO Bacter moss killer, Belgian company Viano have launched Recovery onto the UK market. This is a unique organic fertiliser created to restore damaged turf for the winter months.

It has a special formula ( NPK 8-6-13+mangesium 3) including Humifrost which actively encourage root development. Humifrost contains humic and fulvic acids which are the active elements of humus and greatly contribute to nutrient retention in soils and the encouragement of nutrent availablity to the plants. These acids are particularly valuable in promoting the availablity of many trace elements.

It is ideally applied in the autumn or early spring, but can be used all year round.

Recovery comes in 20kg bags (granular) and one bag will cover 200 square metres.
